Mailbox Monday June 5th

Mailbox Monday was started over here and it’s one of my favorite book memes to participate in! I love seeing the books that everyone else has got. Plus, it’s fun to show off your haul. I don’t usually buy enough books to justify doing it, but I haven’t done it in a while, so I thought I’d catch up. It was recently my birthday, plus we went to Anime Oasis, so we could justify buying plenty of books!

Anime Oasis 2017

As a Utah native, Anime Banzai is my go to anime convention. But this year, my hubby and I decided to mix it up. Anime Oasis falls near my birthday and Boise isn’t too far from us, so we decided to check it out. We sprang for the con hotel because we wanted to get the full experience. We also took along a couple friends M & J. So, here’s the highlights!

Anime Oasis Planning 2017

Hey friends, I’ve been posting a ton of bookish content so I figured I’d mix it up with something a bit different. The anime convention Anime Oasis is coming up at the end of the month! It’s located in Boise, so it’s a bit out of my way, but still one of the closest conventions. You can find out more about Anime Oasis here.

Queen of Shadows has redeemed Throne of Glass!

Okay friends, this review is going to be full of spoilers! So, if you’re not planning on reading it ever (you heathen) read on, if you’ve already read the book, read on. If you’re thinking about starting Throne of Glass, do it! Simply so you can get to this book. But wait to read this until after you finish Queen of Shadows.

It's next on my to-read list! Check out my blog for fun bookish posts and reviews.

Traitor to the Throne Review

Here is my Traitor to the Throne review! I had to wait a little while to write my review for this until I had calmed down a little inside. This book has a ton of feels, so prepare yourself! Amani is back and she is trying to kick some ass. Unfortunately, someone is making that difficult. So, why should you read this book? Read on and I will tell you!

My Traitor to the Throne Review! Why you should read it!

Taylor Swift Book Tag

So, however you feel about Taylor Swift, book tags are fun. I personally enjoy her music and this tag looked like a lot of fun. So here is my version of the Taylor Swift book tag! You can see the original post on youtube here. I personally found the tag on Becoming Bookish.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with a book tag, it’s basically a bunch of prompts related to a theme. In this case the theme is Taylor Swift songs. It’s pretty self-explanatory, so read on!

Doctor Who Book Tag!

I’m a huge modern whovian. I’ve watched a bit of the classic and I will finish it eventually. I just struggle with finding a consistent place to watch it. Plus, it’s always competing with other shows and never seems to win… Anyway, I found this fun Doctor Who book tag and figured it was a good time to share it, since the new season starts in two weeks!! *Fangirl Squeal!* I found this on Becoming Bookish so if you want to use it, please give credit to them. I will leave a blank list of the prompts at the bottom of this post for anyone who wants to do it too!

Jeff Zentner Book Signing!

A few months ago, my friend and I were looking up author events at a (somewhat) local bookstore. She was so excited when she found out Jeff Zentner was coming and I had no idea who he was. (I’m so ashamed!) She told me about The Serpent King and HIGHLY recommended it. I looked it up but my library didn’t have it. So, I put it off, until last week I had a moment of panic when she reminded me about the event. The library still didn’t have it, so I just gave in and ordered it. But of course, I didn’t start reading it until Sunday afternoon and the event was Monday night. Good job, me… But it was amazing! I’ll have a review up later this week, but definitely a 5 out of 5! So off we went to Jeff Zentner’s book signing!
